About the Artist
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, it was always my favorite subject — painting, drawing, pottery, anything hands-on. In college, while studying abroad, I even took a photography class that deepened my love for slowing down and noticing light. I trained in pharmacy and spent years in that world of precision and detail, but art was always the thing I came back to on the side — something just for me.
Today, I'm a stay-at-home mom based in Orange County, and painting has become both a creative outlet and a quiet space that's entirely my own. Living so close to the coast has shaped a lot of what ends up on my canvas. There's something about that light, that water, that pace of life that I keep coming back to. I'm fully self-taught, and over the years I've dabbled in acrylics and watercolor — mediums I still love. More recently, I picked up oil painting, and it's quickly become my favorite. There's something about the way it moves, blends, and holds light that feels right for the kind of everyday beauty I love to paint — citrus on the counter, blooms in the garden, and coastal landscapes at sunset (I'll admit, I'm never awake in time for dawn). While the coast has been my biggest inspiration so far, I'm always finding new subjects worth painting — quiet countryside scenes are already calling my name.
Vesper Lane Studio is where that love of painting finally has a home — a place to share original oil paintings inspired by the slow, beautiful moments worth stopping for.
